February Empties

So as of now it seems my blog has become a glorified trash blog. I can’t seem to write about anything other than my empty products!! What can I say I’m proud I’ve finally started finishing things off. That being said I’m def due for a good stash clean out which can come later in March, but future me can deal with that. I finished off some real goodies this time around including things that were seconds and I strongly plan to repurchase. It is very satisfying to find skincare and haircare products that you actually like and are willing to spend your cold hard cash on. It’s a rush. “Take my money, make me hydrated” she yells into the abyss! The list may not be long this month but definitely worth a glance, so please enjoy my ramblings about this stuff I put on my face.

Skincare

Huxley Secret of Sahara Cleansing Water; Be Clean, Be Moist

What it is: a gentle makeup remover/ cleansing water that smells like heaven

How long I had it: 3 months

Feelings: Y’all know I loved that Secret of Sahara toner and the cleansing water did not fall short. This was so refreshing in the morning and left my skin feeling soft and clean. It never made my face red or irritated and felt really soothing, especially when I had done an intense treatment the night before. 10 outta 10 I’d def recommend.

Repurchased: Not yet, but most likely. I’m trying out a different cleansing water but this is a strong contender for the next round.

DHC Deep Cleansing oil mini

What it is: an emulsifying makeup removing cleansing oil

How long I had it: 3 months used sporadically

Feelings: I got this in a set that I purchased over the holidays and I’m so happy about it. I have already used a full size and I was happy to use this little one when traveling. I’m going to finagle a way to refill the bottle because it was perfect for my travel bag.

Repurchased: Maybe, I have so many cleansers in my stash still but this one will be considered when I need to replenish.

Avene Care for Sesitive Lips

What it is: a waxy feeling (in a good way) lip balm

How long I had it: 3 months

Feelings: Shoot the cannons, drop the confetti, bring in the dancing lobsters! I used a whole lip balm with out losing it!! This stuff was great. The stick is on a bevel so it feels super fancy when you use it, and the lid has a great *click* when you pop it back on. It has a totally matte finish, virtually no fragrance and a great waxy/ balmy feel. It’s not the most reparative lip balm so I like it better for daytime but this creates a wonderful barrier that protects from cold harsh weather beautifully.

Repurchased: No, but it is added to the list of balms I’m allowed to get once my stash dwindles.

Avene Hydrance Intense Rehydrating Serum

What it is: a light gel like hydrating serum

How long I had it: a couple of months

Feelings: I really like this a lot. Its a super lightweight refreshing serum that doesn’t pill or look greasy. It also has the classic avene fragrance which I am very much so falling in love with.

Repurchased: not yet but strongly considering.

Chidoriya Yuzu Cleansing Balm mini

What it is: an all natural Japanese cleansing balm

How long I had it: 3 months using it a couple times a week

Feelings: If you like cleansing balms you’ll like this! It is a non emulsifying makeup melting wonder. It has to be removed with a hot washcloth which isn’t my favorite makeup removal method but this was really pleasant. It left my skin feeling hydrated and smooth and it didn’t tug or pull around the eyes. It also left behind zero irritation and seemingly no redness ( I can’t be 100% percent sure because warm water always makes my cheeks pink.)

Repurchased: no, it is a beautiful cleanser I just prefer emulsifying oil cleansers.

Herbivore Pink Cloud Moisturizer

What it is: a light whipped rosewater moisturizer for all skin types

How long I had it: just shy of 4 months

Feelings: This is actually my second jar of Pink Cloud, and its cheesy but its got me floating on clouds! This definitely isn’t a fave for my skin in the winter. I found I had to cocktail it a little too much to get enough hydration and sometimes it still pilled up. Even through that I still love it and I can’t wait to use it again once it is warm out!

Repurchased: yes but not until spring has sprung

Personal Care/ Haircare

Agent Nateur holistick deodorant

What it is: an all natural aluminum free deodorant

How long I had it: 2 and a half months

Feelings: This is my first foray into bougie deodorants, and I gotta say I’m a little disappointed. At $18 I thought this would make my pits smell phenomenal! Lemme tell you it did not. I don’t think I’m a particularly pungent individual but this deodorant couldn’t even stand two days in a row in a wool sweater. It took on a slightly dank wet towel smell that wasn’t quite covered by the fragrance. I also found it to be a strangely wet feeling deodorant that definitely discolored my favorite bra (which let’s be honest already has enough stains.) It could just be that it didn’t jive with my skin and its your fave deodorant and that’s okay, I’ve found that I have to pay much closer attention to the fragrances I pick in natural deodorant.  Making sure they don’t clash with my own chemistry, which is fun to explore, but inevitably a stinker of a job.

Repurchased: nope

IGK No More Blow

What it is: a leave in product reduce dry time in the hair and smooth flyaways

How long I had it: 2 and a half months

Feelings: This might be my favorite hair product. Mistress hair balm is wonderful but I’ve found it works even better on top of this. I have so much hair and its so long that I will occasionally wake up in the morning with hair still damp from the shower I took the night before. This 100% prevents that. It literally cuts my dry time in half #nomorefrozenstrands in the winter for me!! Is this product necessary? Of course not. Does it make make my life easier? You betchya!

Repurchased: Yes

Marvis Royal toothpaste mini

What it is: fancy lady Italian toothpaste

How long I had it: 2 months

Feelings: Y’all know I’m straight up obsessed. This is the final mini of the 6 I had purchased. Royal was my favorite flavor of the three I have been using over the last several months and I’m so excited to finally open up and use my full size.

Repurchased: yes the full size and already using it.

I had not 1, not 2, but 4 products I finished that were seconds or thirds! I’m also excited to say that most of these products worked really well for me and I could easily repurchase them in future. Is there anything you’ve finished recently that’s become a staple in your routine?
